by angelic devil

A couple of months ago, there was an assembly held in the MPH by the management. For your information I was there at that time, and all I could do was laugh in my heart. I am not saying the event was useless but after hearing all the comments, I could not believe that there was so much. In my head there was only one question playing over and over again. If there is so many complaints, where has the previous MPP's been?? What have they been doing so LONG?? Is it the responsibility of the management to come all the way down to talk to us and hear our complaints or the responsibility of the people we elect as our representatives to bring our problems to the management?

These people my friends have made us become what we are today. People who could not care less or be slightly bothered about the MPP. What is the use of becoming an MPP, if the main reason is to just polish the management's shoes or to increase the weight in your CV.? I have been reading this blog for the past one and the half months. I have seen some comments stating why we need to share our view using this blog "quoted from budak nakal in his comments to pelajar gemuk V". ARE YOU SCARED 'BUDAK NAKAL' THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT now since you have a very big task at hand? My dear friend, "with great power comes great responsibility quoted from The Movie Spiderman". In my head the only thing running is, can you please give me a better option for communication? This is not a government university where we can publicly state our views and we are just students concerned for the well being of our fellow friends and university itself.

About the next issue, did you know that the National University Of Singapore (NUS) has a student union which runs roughly 800++ programs and event per year. Nearly 2 to 3 programs running simultaneously a day. That is like nearly 10 times the number of activities organized by our university. Yes you may say that it is a much older university compared to ours but the fact is it is still a university. The reason this possible is cause the NUS has culture and a reputation which it is proud to maintain. The students and alumni are proud of their university. The student union has a 24 hour hot line where students can lodge a report anytime. There is even a travel centre where they can plan they vacations and a student bank where they can lend money for their studies.

What is actually the function of our MPP?

I was reading the many comments regarding the facilitator issue, and i taught to myself. Did the author of the article ever point a finger at any specific person? Why so emotional? Even if he was previously involved in this system of cronyism, but at it takes a great person to admit his own mistakes and improve. I felt sad when reading the personal insults and comments written towards him. Come on, you have been given so much opportunities and did you even once think of improving the welfare of other students. like the Malay saying goes, "gajah depan mata tak nampak, tapi kuman seberang laut nampak".

I myself don't think it the managements fault for the facilitator problem as this matter was given to certain individuals to handle. They are the ones who manipulated the situation for their own betterment. Think about it. I don't care if you have personal issues with him or you were working together, but did you ever think what you said to him also reflects yourself cause you were there, doing it with him while he was making use of his status and maybe he had also helped you. Condemned for going clubbing or dying his hair? OMG!! Get a life la, cause at least the person is not a hypocrite and doing all this behind everyone’s back. He is proud of what he has learned and for your information the learning process never ends. It’s not like he went clubbing and got drunk and hid it from all of you. Why the great mighty fuss? Take a look around you and you'll see more people wearing tudung during the day and barely dressed when it strikes midnight? Don't believe me, take a look around LOFT, ZOUK and PLANET HOLLYWOOD and you'll be surprised when you see the number of UNITEN students there. Those are hypocrites. Living a life of lies and one day just getting caught in a web of self knitted lies.

What needs to be done? An electronic bulletin system. A forum run by the management and not the MPP where students can state their views. A weekly meeting with the MPP.. Does these thoughts have to come from us students or from the MPP. Think about it. This is not our work... The semester will start again in 2 days time. MPP better start thinking... The solutions which are needed....

to be continued....

Well said!

A good post.

I hope all point that have been made in this post should be reviewed and should be taken into consideration if you guys want things around you to work.

A student committee that represents the students SHOULD represents their voices.

If you still hear them ranting, that means you are not working really hard yet. So please end the students misery by taking what they are ranting and table it in a meeting, and try to search for solution that best suit the situation. If you have been doing your part well, this blog would not be here. That shows that there are something fishy somewhere, and it would be a wise step if you start looking for the root of the problem. If YOU are the root of the problem, then, snap out of it!

Anyway, Angelic Devil. Nice posting. Keep it up!

hi.. just want to state my opinion.. about facies, is just a quarrel between friends. so lets not talk about it anymore.
and about MPP, to angelic layer why don't you try to be an MPP or get to know MPP and learn what they are doing. Its not MPP to be blame, Its all our responsibilities. Do you think MPP never face management? They have. But the action is up to management. MPP no power to force the upper management. They have done what they can. Its just that, how management will take serious about students problems if students doesn't even care about their own welfare. MPP je nak fight for welfare, macam syok sendiri, management pun x nak dengar...
